Stroke & Brain Injury Survivors With Aphasia To Host Holiday Boutique

Adler Aphasia Center, a nonprofit based in Maywood and West Orange with Aphasia Communication Groups located throughout New Jersey, will be hosting their Something Special Holiday Boutique and Open House on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at their flagship Center at 60 West Hunter Avenue in Maywood, NJ.  Door prizes and light refreshments will be offered during this event. The Adler Aphasia Center is an innovative post-rehabilitative therapeutic program that addresses the long-term needs of stroke and brain injury survivors with aphasia and their families. Aphasia is a language disorder caused by stroke or other brain injury.

Something Special is a unique design studio run by the Center’s stroke and brain injury survivors with aphasia. This boutique offers handcrafted jewelry and couture items, along with desk items, serving pieces, bar ware and more made by Center members with aphasia. This is a unique opportunity to view the entire line of Something Special handcrafted gifts and jewelry in one location. With each beautifully gift-wrapped purchase, a bio of the artisan is included, helping the Center raise awareness about aphasia. Many of the artisans will be on hand to greet attendees. All proceeds from Something Special sales support the Center’s Scholarship Fund, so that no one with aphasia is turned away from the Center’s programs and services for their inability to pay.

RSVP to Amy May at amay@adleraphasiacenter.org or call (201) 368-8585. Tours of the Adler Aphasia Center will also be available during this Open House.
