The Meadowlands Regional Chamber presented 2018’s first installment of the public affairs event series Eggs & Issues today, featuring newly-appointed President and CEO of the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (NJSEA) Vincent Prieto.
Prieto was invited by the Chamber to discuss significant economic development initiatives that are expected to be pursued in the Meadowlands, now that he has been appointed under the Murphy Administration. The former Assembly Speaker’s presentation touched on changes at the NJSEA and how its future direction will affect and improve businesses throughout the region.
“Economic development is first and foremost,” Prieto told the audience. “How do we do that? The first thing that I talked about when I got this job is our master plan. I think our master plan is something that we all need to take a look at. The last time we had one was in 2004. That’s a long time ago. That was a different world with different needs. Manufacturing was a different animal. Warehouse distribution was different. We need a new master plan to see how we can do things better.”
This Eggs & Issues event was sponsored by WSP USA, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, PSEG, Bergen Engineering Co., IBEW Local Union No. 164, NAI James E. Hanson, Scarinci Hollenbeck LLC, JLL, Secaucus Brownfields Redevelopment and Onyx Equities.
