November Is National Donor Sabbath

During National Donor Sabbath, observed annually in November, faith leaders throughout the country come together with the support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration to educate their communities about the critical need for organ and tissue donation, and the vital role their faith plays in making the decision to register as a donor.

Ways to Get Involved:

– Share the message that donors save lives with your congregation

  • Inform the leader(s) of your congregation that you would like to share your personal connection to organ and tissue donation for your community to hear, or contact NJ Sharing Network to have a transplant recipient or donor family member speak briefly at one of your services.
  • If you’d like to display an information table at your house of worship, NJ Sharing Network will provide educational resources for you. Contact us at 908-665-4687 or visit our Donor Sabbath page to download our Resource Kit, including a Faith Resource Guide and other faith-based resources.

– Website and Social Media

  • Include an organ and tissue donor registry link to www.NJSharingNetwork.org on your house of worship’s website and Facebook page during the month of November and beyond.
  • Post to your personal social media accounts that it is National Donor Sabbath and include the link www.NJSharingNetwork.org for followers to register as organ and tissue donors.

Include an organ and tissue donor registry link to www.NJSharingNetwork.org on your house of worship’s website and Facebook page during the month of November and beyond.

Post to your personal social media accounts that it is National Donor Sabbath and include the link www.NJSharingNetwork.org for followers to register as organ and tissue donors.
ONE organ and tissue donor can save 8 lives and restore health to over 75 people. Thank you for being a symbol of hope for those who are waiting.
