Tech Supplier Partners With Bergen County WDB To Hire Retail Experts

Hackensack-based Tech Supplier, a national leader in distributing refurbished and overstocked consumer electronics, is expanding its presence in New Jersey and has contracted with the Bergen County Workforce Development Board (WDB) to identify potential employees.

Tech Supplier is looking for staff with retail experience in a field where jobs have been contracting. As brick and mortar retailers have closed or reduced staffing, Tech Supplier is moving in the opposite direction and is hiring. Beginning with openings in purchasing and sales, Tech Supplier anticipates an expanding need for retail experience. The company has enjoyed significant growth in the last five years.

“We have decided that our headquarters at 74 Green St. in Hackensack is a location we intend to call home for some time,” said Founder Alex Blaker. “The local population provides a well-educated pool of talent and it is a convenient hub for shipping and delivering to our customers.”

He added, “The Bergen County WDB has been great taking the time to learn about our business to help us identify the right employees. And it is thanks to Jim Kirkos and the Meadowlands Regional Chamber who made the connection for us.”

Tech Supplier was founded in 2009 to supply the latest generation cell phones to underserved markets outside the United States. Building a strong network of retail outlets across the globe, the company quickly expanded to distribute a wide range of consumer electronics. Recognizing changing consumer habits, Tech Supplier began to focus on refurbished and B stock inventory. After nearly a decade of growth, Tech Supplier now works directly with manufacturers and retailers to provide a solution to sell refurbished and B stock inventory.

The Bergen County WDB is dedicated to supporting workforce and economic development by connecting Bergen County New Jersey residents to jobs and ensuring that employers have the skilled workers they need to grow, compete, and prosper.

The Bergen County WDB oversees the Bergen One-Stop Career Center and acts as a liaison between the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) and local businesses, connecting them to education and training providers and other vital services, such as incentives and training grants, tax credits, on-the-job training for workers, and other business-related services. All WDBs are mandated by federal law (the Workforce Investment Act, WIA) to monitor spending and programs at the Bergen One-Stop Career Center, which assists in recruiting and training employees.
