FDU to offer new graduate program
Silberman College of Business (SCB) at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) is offering a new Master of Science program in Supply Chain Management (SCM), in an effort to respond to the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the field.
Successful management of supply chain and operations is the key to success for virtually all organizations, especially in today’s fast-paced, global and highly competitive business environment. As a result, employers increasingly seek trained professionals with the required skills in logistics, operations, procurement, and supply chain strategies, business models and technologies.
In a testament to this demand, Chris Shanahan, VP Global Procurement at BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) observed that “FDU’s passion and commitment to be inclusive of key procurement elements within their MS – Supply Chain Management curriculum will enable a more complete Supply Chain leader to enter the marketplace.”
“Using FDU’s state-of-the-art facilities, the MS in Supply Chain Management program will employ a variety of contemporary pedagogical techniques in order to foster creative and analytical thinking,” said Program Director Alkis Vazacopoulos. “Small class sizes and cohort-based curriculum will enable a collective learning environment where the faculty can more effectively convey their knowledge and expertise, and the students are empowered through information sharing.“
The degree programs offered by Silberman College are fully accredited by AACSB International. The Princeton Review has consistently identified the College among the best business schools, having been included in their most recent 2014 listing of 295 Best Business Schools.
The College offers a variety of graduate programs and certificates, including the MBA, Saturday MBA, Accelerated MBA, MBA for Executives, MS in Accounting, and MS in Taxation. The MS in Supply Chain Management program fits perfectly in this portfolio, and enables Silberman College to leverage the faculty’s vast experience in graduate education and expertise in supply chain and operations, as well as its strategic location in the greater New York metropolitan area.
